Located on the French-Swiss border, Geneva international airport is the closest airport to the Haute Tarentaise ski resorts.
The 185 km taxi transfer from Geneva to Val d`Isere or Tignes takes approximately 2 ¾ hours, with 40 km to Annecy, along the lakeside to Albertville and then the Tarentaise valley.
Geneva airport is very popular during the winter season for alpine resorts. Many airlines offer a wide range of flights in and out of this airport.
Tip: It takes 30 minutes to 1 hour to collect your luggage (especially on a weekend).
Traffic may be very heavy on weekdays when leaving the airport between 4.30pm and 7pm, and approaching the airport from 7am to 9am.
Please be careful when travelling on a Saturday. Leave plenty of time for a taxi transfer from Val d`Isere to Geneva or from Tignes to Geneva. Heavy traffic may double your journey time.
We advise that you choose a morning flight from Lyon thus leaving the resort before 7am.
